- Abstract
The welding temperature field and residual stress distribution of multi-pass shielded metal arc welding for Q355 T-shaped and Y-shaped pipe truss structure were simulated by finite element software ANSYS WORKBENCH. The results show that the temperature distribution of the two types in the welding zone is uneven in the welding process, and the temperature of Y-shaped is more uneven. The distribution of welding residual stresses in three directions. x, y, and z (horizontal, normal and longitudinal directions), is complex. showing the characteristics of compressive stress-tensile stress-compressive stress transformation in the weld and adjacent zone. The stress existed in the zone is the largest, which is less than the yield limit of base metal and welding material. For the T-shaped, the maximum stress existed in the horizontal pipe is normal tensile stress (231. 75 MPa), that in the vertical pipe is horizontal tensile stress (322. 38 MPa). For the Y-shaped, the maximum stress existed in the horizontal pipe is horizontal tensile stress (199. 79 MPa), those in another pipe are horizontal and longitudinal tensile stress (~196. 49 MPa).
