- Abstract
An interview with Secretary-General Yide Qiao of the Shanghai Development Research Foundation is presented. When asked about the purpose of launching the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), he refers to several reasons for launching the new bank. He believes AIIB is the first international financial institution that makes China a global leader. He adds that AIIB may not completely alter the global landscape but will help improve the global financial architecture.
