- Abstract
A number of liver function tests were carried out in plasmas of 87 patients with advanced cancer, but without clinical evidence of liver metastases. Glutamic-pyruvic transaminase and mucoprotein levels were substantially increased in most patients. Albumin concentrations were generally reduced, and those of globulin raised. The activity of alkaline phosphatase and the level of calcium were increased in patients with breast cancer, and the concentration of cholesterol was increased in those with brain tumours.
