- Abstract
The article presents a study on the toxicity of heavy metals such as chromium, mercury and cadmium to freshwater crayfish or Procambarus clarkii. The study involves adult intermolt specimens of Procambarus clarkii collected from Lake Albufera in Valencia, Spain, which are placed in a 300 liter (L) aquaria with tap water that contains several metal concentrations. The result shows that the crayfish Procambarus clarkii from Lake Albufera has a high resistance against heavy metal pollution.
