- Abstract
The article presents the sacred history of Islam as of April 1990, particularly the cult of the Muslim saints in late medieval Egypt or between 1200-1500 Anno Domini (AD). It cites the two most important factors shaping the Islamic conception of human history, including the paradigmatic early Muslim community. Also examined are such subjects as the ziyara, the pious visitors or zuwwar, and the specialized guides called shuyukh al-ziyara.
