- Abstract
The article offers an overview of the archive of Jamaican writer Claude McKay conserved in the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. Two pieces of writings were the first forays into McKay's research for an autobiographical book, in which he recounted his interactions with European and American artists and intellectuals. McKay wrote about the distinction obscenity and free zone of consensual sex in his autobiography.
