- Abstract
Based on the important policies and regulations, taking into account the service target positioning as well as the service content, service mode and service supply mechanism, the policy evolution of the support service system for the professional development of rural teachers in China since the reform and opening-up is divided into three stages, namely, the stage which mainly serves rural teachers in their academic qualification and competence (1980-2003), the stage which mainly serves rural teachers in improving their academic qualification and ability (2003 - 2015), and the stage which mainly serves rural teachers in improving their professional development and quality (2015-present). The fundamental driving force of the policy evolution of the support service system for rural teachers' professional development is the continuous improvement of rural strategic position, the basic driving force is the imbalanced development between rural education and urban education, and the direct driving force is the demand for rural teachers' professional development. Looking forward to the future, in terms of service objectives, the lifelong learning and independent development of rural teachers should be focused on in the support service system for rural teachers' professional development; in terms of service content, more attention should be paid to the educational feelings and identity of rural teachers; in terms of service mode, more importance should be attached to the normalization and individulization of rural teacher training; in terms of service supply mechanism, more attention should be paid to the quality of rural teacher training service.
