- Abstract
The kinetics of the UV-induced process of gold particle formation in aqueous-acidic solutions of chitosan doped with HAuCl is studied using optical spectroscopy and small-angle X-ray scattering. It is shown that during synthesis with a continuous increase in average nanoparticle sizes from 2.9 to 6.3 nm, the plasmon resonance maximum shifts towards lower wavelengths, from 535 to 523 nm, whereas a reverse dependence is observed for completely formed systems of nanoparticles. An explanation for this effect is offered, according to which the displacement of the plasmon resonance maximum is related to the change in dielectric properties of the polymer solution-gold particles system.
