THE COMPENSATION OF EXPERT WITNESSES.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the expert witnesses compensation. It states that the witnesses who attend trial following the orders of the court and give testimony, are entitled to compensation and mileage fees. It however states that the amount provided to the expert witnesses, is significantly low which do not satisfy the experts given their knowledge and experience. It states that the experts are drawn from a large group which compose of physicians, handwriting specialists and civil engineers. It states the experts compensation in the absence of express agreement has been the bone of contention for a long period of time.
