Published in 2022, Left Bank and Right Bank: Stories of French Literature is the work of Du Qinggang, the professor in the Department of French at Wuhan University. The book consists of 271 pages and is divided into 85 chapters, which comment on the lives and creations of the masters of French literature since the 15th century, in the form of thematic biographies. It also include "me", who is both a novelist and a French researcher, and the origin of French literature, highlighting the authors' "ferryman" character of the two cultures. The book proposes a unique blend of the french writers'financial accounts, eating, drinking and cooking, possessions and dreams of love with their literary creations. The author wrote history in stories, turning this book into an original history of French literature.
