The author discusses the unintended consequences of the medicaid expansion and racial inequality in access to health insurance in the U.S. She discusses the impact of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) on health care in the U.S. She mentions that the expanded insurance access for low-income Americans through Medicaid has only been partially realized. She enumerates challenges to the ACA and the Medicaid expansion.
