- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which examined whether metabolic syndrome is associated with insulin, catecholamines and thyroid hormones. Results of the study showed that euthyroid overweight and obese patients with metabolic syndrome showed higher insulin levels compared with subjects without this syndrome. It is suggested by the study that insulin and noradrenaline cooperate independently to the development of the syndrome.
