- Title
Treating Ectopics Chemically.
- Abstract
The article presents information on a new way to chemically treat ectopic pregnancy. A combination of two drugs--methotrexate and citrovorum--has been successful as a medical treatment for unruptured ectopic pregnancy in 96 of 100 women. Fifty-five of the 96 women for whom the treatment proved successful needed only one or two treatments. Researchers conclude that the "reproductive outcome of patients following methotrexate therapy continues to be favorable while avoiding the risk and cost associated with hospitalization, general anesthesia and laparoscopy.
