- Abstract
The article discusses the critical role of planning, social support, maternal and infant health for employed women reporting back to work after a maternity leave. It identifies the psychosocial factors associated with decisions to return to work such as planning and perceptions of support from family, employers, colleagues, and social groups. However, findings reveal that postpartum depressive symptom is a predictive factor whether a new mother should return to work or not.
