Graft Investigation.
- Abstract
The article reports on a list that contains names of current and former politicians short-listed for investigation on their alleged embezzlement of state funds in Cameroon. Vice Premier Minister Amadou Ali, who is in charge of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, prepared a list of 60 top government officials for investigation, arrest, trial and imprisonment if found guilty. The 16-page document was drafted in late 2007. Some of the officials were ex-ministers and former ministry employees such as ex-Minister of Economy and Finance Paul Ngamo Hamani and Douala Port Authority General Manager Alphonse Siyam Siwe. Names of executives and bankers of state-backed institutions were also found.
