- Title
Immersive Exhibition Design: Titanic Belfast and the Concept of Scenography.
- Authors
Bauer, Matthias
- Abstract
Located at Queen's Island where the famous ocean liner was built, Titanic Belfast is a museum that combines immersive and non-immersive strategies. The visitor is invited to travel back to the early 20th century and experience the construction and the maiden journey, the catastrophe and the wreck of the ship in a submarine media space. The article discusses different but complementary concepts of scenography. The main argument is concerned with the functional spatiality of layout and display.
