- Abstract
Bone is among the most common sites of metastases in breast, lung, and prostate cancer patients. Bone metastases (BM) often result in multiple skeletal complications, most frequently bone pain, which significantly increases morbidity and reduces quality of life (QOL) among patients. Radiotherapy is an effective tool to palliate bone pain and improve QOL regardless of fractionation. Radiotherapy creates breaks in double-stranded DNA, resulting in cell death in the targeted cancer cells. We present the case of a patient with a history of lung cancer who demonstrated improved BM on bone scans following multiple fraction re-irradiation.
