Intravitreal ranibizumab, with or without filter?
- Authors

- Abstract
The article discusses a study that determines the presence of the fluid aspirated from Lucent vials using different gauged needles. It reveals that the procedure of using non-filtering needles to aspirate Lucentis from the rubber-stopper vials may cause the introduction of rubber material into the eye and lead to unexpected local or systemic side effects. It suggests that the presence of rubber particles in intravitreal injections may lead to unexpected inflammatory reactions.
