- Title
Police Brutality.
- Abstract
A reprint of the article "Police Brutality," which appeared in the October 16, 1851 issue of the "Daily Union" is presented. The article presents a letter about a constable in California who shot a Polish Jew which appeared in the "Republican." The constable, who was trying to arrest the Polish Jew, struck the latter with a revolver and shot him twice. After the incident, a large crowd gathered to take the constable and put him on a trial. The jury did not agree on a verdict because the Polish Jew did not die.
