- Abstract
The article examines the role of disaster theories on the nature of crisis, highlighting the peak oil case. He states that disaster theories are disorienting and could harm the radical popular movements that are developing throughout the world. He adds that the ecological dimension of a multidimensional crisis is a serious implication of the capitalist market system. He comments that the scarcity of energy approach are inconsistent with the history of capitalist development.
