- Abstract
The article discusses the risk of wrongful conviction that leads to mental retardation of a person and highlights proposals for procedural protections of mentally retarded criminal defendants. It informs that persons with mental retardation are overrepresented in the criminal justice system. It also presents information on the steps taken to protect capitally charged individuals with mental retarded people.
