- Abstract
The article presents a comparative analysis of the curricula for teaching journalistic ethics from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and from journalism education institutions in Brazil. The UNESCO analysis is based on the document "Model Curricula for Journalism Education" that was presented at a 2007 world conference, and it is compared to 20 journalism degree programs from public and private universities in Brazil. The author looks at the approaches of these institutions and indicates the importance of a practical and focused approach that is centered on the ethical practice of journalism.
