The article discusses what the author refers to as the implications of various inconsistencies between the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea for Arctic Navigation and the navigational laws of Arctic Council's Coastal Arctic States such as Canada, Denmark, and the U.S., and it mentions the environmental conditions in the Arctic Circle region, as well as the International Maritime Organization's Polar Code. Arctic region environmental laws are examined.
