An essay is presented on the notion of interest in Article 982 of the Civil Code of Québec (CCQ). The author reflects on the provisions of the CCQ, Article 982, which concerns that any person using any kind of water resources may require the destruction or modification of any works the water is being polluted or dried up. It explores the contradictory effects of Article 982 concerning "general interest" and common good.
