- Abstract
The article discusses an article in a previous issue by author Lucan Way, analyzing the causes and characteristics of the so-called color revolutions that occurred in post-communist countries in Eurasia in the 1990s and early 2000s. The author categorizes such revolutions in three ways which include transformative elections, electoral revolutions, and postelectoral uprisings. Other topics include opposition in autocratic societies that choose not to participate in less-than-perfect elections and the diffusion argument for political change.
