- Authors
Ruderman, Judith
- Abstract
An essay is presented on the identification of several physical illnesses such as tuberculosis (TB), cancer, heart disease, AIDS and other disorders. It offers a history of TB that was considered as a symbolic aspect associated with an individual and the society in the early 20th century and sufferers were considered to have a super sensibility to identify these disorders. The author also explores author D.H. Lawrence's perception of the metaphorical use of the TB.
