- Abstract
The article looks at 21st-century representations of Chilean writer Gabriela Mistral, with a particular focus on the 2007 release of an archive of documents and recordings related to her life with her partner Doris Dana. The author also discusses Chilean politics and the role of elites, capitalism, and government in the interpretation of culture. Details on the documentary film "Locas mujeres" (Madwomen), directed by María Elena Wood, are also presented.
