- Abstract
An essay on the historic past of Eastern State Penitentiary and its preservation to become the prison museum of the 21st century is presented. It offers a history of the Eastern State Penitentiary since it was built during the 1800s with its hub-and-spoke design and examines the way it can provide a place for discussing correction issues by connecting the past to the present. The author relates the possibility for the transformation and preservation of the abandoned state prison.
