- Abstract
The article explores the context of the album "At Folsom Prison," by Johny Cash. It states that the music release was chosen by the National Recording Preservation Board for its highly select list of recordings to be preserved for posterity in the U.S. Library of Congress in 2003. A brief background of the performer is also provided. It says that the artist was criticized from 1961 to 1962 for the provocative idea of recording the album in a prison and before a prison audience.
