- Authors

- Abstract
This article explores the ways in which the pension law in Canada can be changed to give greater protection to good employers that want to encourage employees to save and invest for retirement. Employers that want to do this are afraid of the legal risks associated with sponsoring a pension plan or retirement scheme involving member-directed investments. It explains that employers can help employees avoid making mistakes, such as by considering making automatic enrollment in money-purchase plans or by applying default contribution rate.
