- Abstract
The article focuses on the growth of Nollywood in the entertainment industry of Africa. The emergence of Nollywood was influenced by the entertainment industry's adoption of political doctrines and various conceptualizations of pan-Africanism, Afrocentrism and Negritude. The emergence of African film in the 1960s typified by the work of Ousmane Sembene, was positioned in terms of this ideological mission. Meanwhile, the author stressed that film industry's problem is political censorship.
