DAPHNE, Full Text Repositories and Other Resources: What Place for Grey Literature on Archaeology in France Today?
- Authors
Stock, Christiane; Sampité, Bernard
- Abstract
This paper seeks to evaluate the presence of grey archaeological research output in databases and archives available in France today. What kind of documents do we find (theses, reports)? In what proportion do we find them in comparison with white literature? How does the data in France compare to that in other countries? How does the online presence of grey literature in archaeology compare to other disciplines in the humanities and social sciences? If there are differences, how can these be explained? We shall base our analysis on DAPHNE, a recently opened French portal for online databases in archaeology, history, and history of religions, and on French repositories and catalogues providing access to full text documents.
