- Title
Retraction: First report of Clonostachys rosea causing root rot of Beta vulgaris in North Dakota, USA.
- Abstract
Retraction: M.E. Haque and M.S. Parvin. First report of Clonostachys rosea causing root rot of Beta vulgaris in North Dakota, USA. New Disease Reports (2020) 42, 21 (https://www.ndrs.org.uk/article.php?id=042021). The above article, published online on 19 November 2020 in New Disease Reports, has been retracted by agreement between the journal's Senior Editor (Gerard Clover), the British Society for Plant Pathology, and John Wiley & Sons Ltd. The retraction has been agreed due to concerns that (1) Clonostachys rosea should not have been presented as a first report as, subsequent to publication, it became known that the isolates were collected from plants also infected with Rhizoctonia root rot and so it is not possible to discern which fungus is causing the observed symptoms, and (2) the appropriate permission was not sought for publication, as communicated by the Department of Plant Pathology, North Dakota State University.
