- Abstract
The article discusses the national survey on new media and the courts in the U.S. It mentions that the judges and court staff have seen the potential impact of social media on the administration of justice, and they have taken a closer look on its ramifications and opportunities. It states that the respondents have agreed on the need for judges and court employees to be educated about the social media, and learn how its use might affect the daily operations in courthouses. Furthermore, the survey results would re-examine the state codes of conduct for judges and court staff, model jury instructions, cameras in the courtroom and other areas.
