- Title
MAINE EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION LAWS.
- Abstract
This article reports on two employment lawsuits in Maine. A former employee sued after being terminated from her employment at an Indian medical clinic, claiming the tribe violated the Maine Human Rights Act in terminating her employment. The court said it could not enforce its anti-discrimination laws against the tribe due to tribal sovereignty. In another case, a court upheld the Act which allows Maine to enforce employment discrimination laws against Maine tribes.
