- Abstract
The article presents a brief history of the school desegregation policies of former U.S. presidents from Dwight Eisenhower through Bill Clinton and an examination of the initial efforts of former U.S. President George W. Bush on school desegregation. It points out a dispute that despite Bush's good intentions, he has been unable to overcome this difficult history of racial segregation in the nation's public schools just like his predecessors.
