- Authors
Polachek, Dora E.
- Abstract
This article presents discussion of the discipline and methodology of Early Modern French historical scholarship and research as of 2009 and reflects on possible changes which could occur within the field in the following 40 years. Details are given noting the academic decline of the use and study of the French language and it is suggested that without re-energizing interest in the subject, the entire field could disappear. Suggestions are given outlining ways in which publicity and quality of French studies can be promoted.
