Abstract
This section highlights the historical events in the U.S. finance. The U.S. Congress passed the Coinage Act in 1792 which established the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1864, Travelers Insurance sold the first travel insurance to a James Batterson, who three months later bought the first general insurance policy of Travelers. In 1921, Iowa imposed the first cigarette tax. The Chicago Board Options Exchange opened for business in 1973.
