- Abstract
This letter to the editor discusses a study published in the World Journal of Urology that examines the health-related quality of life (HRQOL) outcomes of salvage radical prostatectomy (sRP) for recurrent prostate cancer. The study found that regardless of the primary treatment method, sRP significantly affects the HRQOL of recurrent prostate cancer patients. However, the study has limitations, including a retrospective single-center design, a lack of a control group, a small sample size, and short follow-up time. The authors suggest incorporating social psychological factors such as health literacy and digital health literacy into the statistical analysis to make the study more comprehensive. Despite these limitations, the study highlights the importance of assessing HRQOL outcomes after sRP and the need for further research in this area.
