- Abstract
A method has been proposed to convert isotopically modified sulfur hexafluoride to elemental sulfur by the reaction of sulfur hexafluoride with hydrogen in a high-frequency discharge: SF6 + 3H2 = S + 6HF. The optimal process conditions (the ratio between the reactants, the pressure in the reactor, the flow rate of the reaction mixture, and the yield of the desired products) are determined. Single-isotope sulfur was obtained at a yield of above 99% without a change in the concentration of the corresponding isotope.
