- Abstract
The article discusses the prospective study on the independent risk factors for dry mouth after acute stroke at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary in Scotland. The study shows that 61% of the acute stroke patients have xerostomia. Moreover, the pre-stroke factors associated with xerostomia include older age, number of medications and pre-stroke disability.
