The article focuses on the increase in imported malaria cases in three southern U.S. border jurisdictions in 2023 compared to 2022. Topics include the rise in imported malaria cases, particularly among new arrivals with recent complex travel through countries with endemic malaria, and the need for standardized investigation and reporting protocols to better understand malaria incidence among different subgroups of new arrivals.
