- Abstract
One of the energy manager's jobs is to understand how energy is consumed, not only by the facility as a whole, but also by an individual piece of equipment. This task comes to the forefront when the objective is to assess an energy-saving opportunity. Sometimes going back to basics—remembering the relationship between energy consumption and the device consuming the energy—can make the analysis easier to understand. MyIdea that Worksis an approach that can assist the energy manager in the analysis and evaluation of an energy-saving opportunity. This approach consists of three factors that govern how energy is consumed by equipment.
