- Abstract
Objective: This research was carried out with 3 replications to determine the silage quality of 10 different sorghum x sudan grass hybrid cultivars (Aneto, Greengo, Jumbo, Master BMR, Nutri Honey, Nutrima, Sugar Graze II, Supergraze 1000, Süper Su 22 ve Tonka) grown in Bingöl ecological conditions. Materials and Methods: The grains in the plants were harvested during the pulping period, crushed and filled into plastic drums and left to ferment for 45 days at room temperature. In silage materials; physical score, dry matter (DM) ratio, acetic acid (AA), butyric acid (BA), lactic acid (LA), propionic acid (PA) contents, digestible dry matter (DRM) ratio, dry matter intake (DMI) ratio, relative feed value (RFV), crude protein (CP) ratio, pH, acid detergent fiber (ADF) ratio, neutral detergent fiber (NDF) ratio and acid detergent lignin (ADL) ratio were determined. Results: According to the results of the research, statistically significant differences were found between sorghum x sudan grass hybrid cultivars at the level of p=0.05 in terms of PA content and at the level of p=0.01 in terms of other characteristics. Physical scores of silages belonging to sorghum x sudan grass hybrid varieties were 11-20, DM, AA, BA, LA, PA ratios were 29.34-36.49%, 0.20-0.49%, 0.33-1.16%, 0.70-1.61%, 0.001%-0.002% respectively. DRM rate 57.93-68.76%, DMI rate 2.40-3.20%, RFV 117.26-171.53, CP, ADF, NDF, ADL rates 5.13-8.16%, 25.83%-39.73%, 37.30-50.33%, 6.06-13.00% and pH value was found to be between 3.45-4.09 respectively. Conclusion: According to the data obtained, it was determined that the best quality silage among sorghum x sudan grass hybrid cultivars could be obtained from Nutrima cultivar.
