- Abstract
Chepaizi area in western Junggar Basin is one of the new discovered areas for in-situ leachable sandstone-type uranium deposits in recent years, uranium resources in Shawan Formation is of especially the potential. Based on the data of core and logging curve, combined with the compilation of sand body thickness, sedimentary facies and floor structure of Shawan Formation, this paper analyzed and summarized the uranium mineralization characteristics and ore-controlling factors. The study suggests that the uranium mineralization of Shawan Formation is controlled by gray-green alteration zone; vertically, it develops at the position where the coarse and fine sediments of the top and bottom of the sand body change; horizontally, it develops at the intersection of the north and south sedimentary systems, as well as the intersection, bifurcation and transition position of the underwater distributary channel. The prospecting indicator is the area where the gray-green alteration zone and the double source intersect. The next prospecting should focus on the verification of mineralization between the contact of the gray-green alteration zone and the gray zone.
