- Title
INFOWORKS RS MODELS MEXICAN RIVER FLOODING.
- Abstract
This article discusses the deployment of Wallingford Software's InfoWorks RS computer simulation integrated application software by Chiapas, Mexico's Commission Nacional del Agua. The software modeled the flooding of rivers and public lands. Possible flood zones were identified in a section of the Grijalva river between the beginning of the Vaso de Chicosaen dam and La Cortina de la Angostura dam. InfoWorks RS simulated water-flows of 74,197 and 106,951 cubic feet per second. Plans include estimating potential flood damage for the Secretariat of Public Works and Housing.
