THE PORTRAIT OF OSTIA ANTICA. 01. PRELIMINARY STUDY FOR A NEW SITE REGISTRY.
- Authors
Medri, Maura
- Abstract
This paper focuses on a proposal for a new site registry of Ostia that reflects the current need to record and store information using digital data processing tools, in particular with regard to the site's architecture. The proposal originated as part of a PRIN (Projects of Significant National Interest) project. Its goal is an analysis of Roman architecture in the Hadrianic period (117-138 AD), based for the first time on an analytical and systematic study of monuments (such as the contexts of structures, decorative schemes, and interior fixtures) and monumental complexes. This article is to be seen as the first in a series of preliminary reports designed to illustrate the methodological criteria selected for the processing of legacy data.
