- Abstract
The formula for the eikonal on the output surface of the axially symmetrical dielectric lens with the radial gradient of the refractive index is obtained in the cylindrical coordinate system in the case, when the source is displaced from the focus located on the lens axis. The formula is the sum of the terms of the first and second orders of smallness of the eikonal decomposition in powers of quantities of the radial and longitudinal displacements of the source from the focus. The coefficients of the decomposition terms have singularities on the axis. Therefore, their paraxial decompositions, in which these singularities are eliminated, are found. The error of the obtained formulas used for calculating the eikonal in the aperture of aplanatic lenses is investigated.
