- Abstract
The article presents an editor's report on completion of first year of publication of the journal Plant, Cell and Environment. The report highlights that the mean period between receipt of an acceptable manuscript and its appearance in the published journal is 7 months. Of this time, only 18.3 days is attributable to refereeing. Lengthy process of sub-editing, typesetting, block making and printing causes the remaining delays. As far as quality of articles is concerned, the acceptance rate has risen from about 30% at the beginning of the year to 70%. It indicates a substantial rise in the quality of submitted manuscripts.
