- Abstract
Blood tests showed leukocytosis (24.6 × 10 SP 9 sp L), normal neutrophil (4.64 × 10 SP 9 sp L) and lymphocyte count (11.62 × 10 SP 9 sp L), eosinophilia (5.76 × 10 SP 9 sp L), mildly elevated IgE at 24 IU/mL (normal 0-18), negative cow's milk specific IgE, and a normal CRP. DISCUSSION Hyper IgE syndrome is a rare primary immunodeficiency characterized by eczema, elevated serum IgE levels, recurrent skin infections and recurrent pyogenic pneumonias complicated by bronchiectases, secondary infections, and hemoptysis. Atopic dermatitis, STAT3- and DOCK8-hyper-IgE syndromes differ in IgE based sensitization pattern.
